We’re back home after our sixth-annual Labor Day weekend family vacation at Disney World and had a great time as usual. Decent crowds, hidden Mickeys, and those cool FastPass Exchange cards really made the weekend fun.

We got up early on Saturday and drove Hollywood Studios for the Extra Magic hour. Following our usual pattern, we made a bee-line for Toy Story Mania to get FastPasses. By the time we got them, around 8:20am, our return time was three hours later at 11:20am (and the standby line was already 50 minutes)! …
I guess it’s true what they say about the frenetic pace of life in New York City. My 10-day business trip to Manhattan just flew by. It was a lot of hard work, and a lot of fun, but I’m glad to be back home.
We went out to Tropicana Field tonight to see the Cleveland Indians take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Wow, parking at the Trop is now $20! I miss the good old days (i.e., before the 2008 World Series season) when parking was free! Anyway … My daughter was in need of a new Rays t-shirt …
It rained here the entire holiday weekend … the pool was close to overflowing! I wasn’t complaining though because we seriously needed the rain.
Today was the longest driving day of the entire trip … not in total miles, but because at this point we were just anxious to get back home!
Our reservations for the tram to the top of the Arch were for 8:50 so we were up and out of the hotel by 8:15. We hit up a downtown Starbucks for our morning drinks and were in the parking garage of the Gateway Arch Riverfront area by 8:30.
