Disney Labor Day weekend 2010, Day 3

closeHey, just so you know ... this post is now about 13 years and 7 months old. Please keep that in mind as it very well may contain broken links and/or outdated information.

We’re back home after our sixth-annual Labor Day weekend family vacation at Disney World and had a great time as usual. Decent crowds, hidden Mickeys, and those cool FastPass Exchange cards really made the weekend fun.

This morning we walked over to the Riverside area of the Port Orleans resort for breakfast and then spent some time in the pool back at the French Quarter. My daughter was a little disappointed since the waterslide wasn’t going to be open until 10am and with a looming 11am checkout we didn’t have time to wait that long.

After checking out and loading our bags into the car, we walked back through the hotel to the dock to catch the boat over to Downtown Disney. We did some shopping and had lunch in the Marketplace and then walked over to the West Side and spent some time playing video games inside DisneyQuest.

By mid-afternoon, dark clouds were approaching again so we hopped onto the water taxi from the West Side back over the Marketplace. Our timing was good as our boat back to the Port Orleans French Quarter was waiting and ready to go. Once back at the hotel, we were in the car and on the road to I-4 and home. About 10 minutes later the heavy rain started, but it actually didn’t slow down traffic too much. We were back home shortly after 6pm, another fun Labor Day vacation weekend behind us.

Here were our Hidden Mickey totals for the weekend:
Epcot: 27
Hollywood Studios: 14
Magic Kingdom: 7
Animal Kingdom: 4

Not too shabby … I’m sure we’ll add to those totals on our next trip in October for the Food and Wine Festival. 🙂

I was going to include two quick rants in this post (one about directional signs on Disney property and one about the Disney Dining Plan) but I’m just not as upset about them as I was when I was composing this post in my head at the time … so maybe next time.
