Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
My wife and I were at Disney World for our honeymoon when Epcot held the first International Food & Wine Festival back in 1996. And yet, with all the times we’ve been to Disney World since then (which also was my first time ever), we’ve never been there again during the festival … until this weekend, celebrating its 15th year.
MacBook Air(port) cleared by TSA
The original MacBook Air confused the TSA when it was introduced two years ago.
Now, CNN is reporting that the TSA has cleared the new MacBook Air so you don’t have to take it out of your bag for screening:
Apple may wish to avoid comparisons of the MacBook Air to similarly compact but underpowered netbooks. However, like netbooks, Apple’s new laptop is “smaller than a standard-size laptop,” meaning it can stay in a bag, said TSA spokesman Nicholas Kimball.
When I still had my Eee PCs I always had to remove them from my bag when going through security and they were a lot smaller than the new Macbook Air. Granted, they were thicker and that probably affected the x-ray photos, but it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out at the airport checkpoints.
Disney Labor Day weekend 2010, Day 3
We’re back home after our sixth-annual Labor Day weekend family vacation at Disney World and had a great time as usual. Decent crowds, hidden Mickeys, and those cool FastPass Exchange cards really made the weekend fun.
Heading to Disney for Labor Day
It’s Labor Day Weekend which means summer is over, school has started, and it’s time for our annual family vacation weekend at Disney World.
Into the New York state (of mind)
I’m sitting at Gate E68 in the Tampa International Airport waiting for my flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport. I’m heading to Manhattan for a 10-day business trip, the primary objective of which is the upgrade of our PeopleSoft financials system over the weekend.
Polaroid PoGo
Back in March, in preparation for our recent family roadtrip vacation, I purchased the Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer. The tiny PoGo prints 2 x 3-inch borderless color images in under a minute onto ZINK (zero ink) paper.
Road Trip 2010: Day 9
Today was the longest driving day of the entire trip … not in total miles, but because at this point we were just anxious to get back home!
Road Trip 2010: Day 8
Our reservations for the tram to the top of the Arch were for 8:50 so we were up and out of the hotel by 8:15. We hit up a downtown Starbucks for our morning drinks and were in the parking garage of the Gateway Arch Riverfront area by 8:30.
