Spring Training 2011: Day One

It’s that time of year again! The Ides of March have just passed which means it’s time for me and my brother to head out to Arizona and take in some Cactus League baseball.

The streak is finally over

It took going into overtime, but almost two months after their last win (back on December 18 which also happened to be in overtime), the Cleveland Cavaliers finally won a game, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 126 – 119. The Cavs’ 26 losses in a row tied the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ record (back in 1977) [...]

Bucs finish strong, but miss out on the playoffs

After finishing with only 3 wins last year, my Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints 23-13 to close out the regular season with a 10-6 record. Unfortunately, with the Bears losing to the Packers and the Giants defeating the Redskins, there will be no playoff games for the Bucs [...]

Baseball off-season: training and trades

Usually around this time of year my mind turns to baseball. Spring training is only three months away and I’ve already started planning for my third annual trip out to Arizona in March to see my Cleveland Indians (I’ve already got tickets to two games in-hand!). But this past week I watched the Rays start [...]

10-10-10

October 10, 2010 – 10/10/10 In addition to my little sister celebrating her 30th birthday (10 + 10 + 10 = 30, much cooler than my binary birthdays!) lots of other stuff is going on today, mainly: the answer to life, the universe, and everything! the new GreenPois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 was supposed to [...]

Back to the playoffs

Congratulations Rays! With their win over Baltimore tonight, the Tampa Bay Rays clinched their second playoff berth in three years, eliminating the Red Sox from the wildcard race. Now they just need to hold on for the remaining few games, hopefully extend their half-game lead over the Yankees, and win the Eastern division.

Football split decision

I knew it was going to be a tough start to the 2010 NFL season because one of my two favorite teams was guaranteed to start with a loss. That’s because the Cleveland Browns were in town playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season opener. The last time these two teams played each other [...]

Night out at Tropicana Field

We went out to Tropicana Field tonight to see the Cleveland Indians take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Wow, parking at the Trop is now $20! I miss the good old days (i.e., before the 2008 World Series season) when parking was free! Anyway … My daughter was in need of a new Rays t-shirt [...]

Good luck in Miami, I guess

According to Dan Gilbert’s open letter to the fans, the Cavs will be champions before LeBron. I’m not sure I believe that, but I do kinda agree with this part: “As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier. [...]

Road Trip 2010: Day 5

We slept in again today which was nice and had breakfast in the hotel. While waiting for our laundry to dry my daughter and I went out to the basketball court and shot hoops for a bit. I also took my disposable camera from the caving trip over to Walgreen’s to have it developed before [...]
